Precision steel ring and bevel gear set for TT02 upgrades

This 8pcs steel ring gear and bevel gear set is a purpose-made aftermarket replacement for Tamiya TT02 and TT02B chassis. Supplied as model TT2100, the kit provides hardened steel components for the differential and intermediate drive locations used on TT02 platforms. The description covers RC hobby maintenance and tuning uses and is written for experienced model technicians.

Intended compatibility is the TT02 platform; technicians should verify housing bore diameters, bearing fits and tooth profiles prior to final assembly. Steel gears offer higher wear resistance than plastic counterparts but demand accurate backlash, secure bearings and precise concentric mounting to avoid noise and uneven wear.

Fitting guidance: remove contamination from carriers and bearings, use the correct shim stack or factory presets to set backlash, and inspect gear runout by hand-turning the assembly. Apply a light, appropriate gear lubricant to bevel teeth during initial run-in to smooth bedding and reduce early friction.

Performance role: switching to steel ring and bevel gears preserves tooth geometry under elevated torque loads and prolonged running, supporting more rigorous tuning and testing regimes. Monitor operational noise and temperature in the first few sessions and re-check mesh and bearing clearance as part of preventative maintenance.

I've been shopping on RC Jaz for years and love them. Excellent service and stock.
Confirm differential housing bore sizes, bearing inner diameters and tooth counts, then verify the gear faces run concentrically when hand-turned to ensure correct installation.
A light application of grease to the bevel faces and a few low-load runs will help seating; recheck mesh and bearing play after the initial run-in period.
If current bearings show play or roughness, replace them prior to fitting steel gears to preserve tooth life and ensure reliable performance under load.
Steel gears expose bearing and mesh issues more readily due to lower damping; use noise, temperature and runout checks as part of normal diagnostics after fitting.
