The pendulum mechanism allows internal mass to realign toward the ground while wheels rotate, producing a consistent downward bias rather than static ballast. That dynamic assists wheels that are digging into soft surfaces or attempting to climb from depressions by increasing effective downward force when the tyre meets the terrain.
