This kit contains aluminium L-shape piggyback damper components developed for TRAXXAS X-MAXX shock bodies and intended to replace internal damper parts while using the original shock tube and caps. The piggyback reservoir increases oil volume and includes anti-leak considerations to preserve oil during extended travel cycles.
Important: the components are not a full sealed shock and require the factory X-MAXX shock body, seals, and end caps for proper assembly and sealing.
The supplied shafts are stainless steel at 7mm diameter to increase column stiffness under heavy loading, while aluminium housings provide structural support and extra reservoir capacity with controlled weight. Spring options listed at source are a 6mm green coil and a 2.8mm orange coil for baseline setup choices.
The set is front and rear compatible so identical component geometry can be applied to both ends of the X-MAXX chassis. During installation inspect seals and shock caps and reuse factory hardware when it preserves fit and sealing function.
Use with original X-MAXX shock bodies to gain extra oil capacity and the structural benefit of a 7mm shaft; adjust springs and oil to match load and terrain requirements.
