This 16pc CVD set has been developed with a focus on precision and durability for high rpm operation in Traxxas X-Maxx 6S drivetrains. Hardened steel #45 components are used for the primary drive elements and the alloy hex interface has been reworked to accept a stainless steel pin through a perforated seat, improving axial retention under load.
Engineering changes from the OEM parts include increasing dogbone cross section from 5.5mm to 7mm to raise torsional stiffness and fatigue life, and revising the CVD-to-hex joint to a pinned configuration that reduces relative motion at the interface. These alterations enhance rotational stability while retaining original fitment and driveline geometry.
The kit is specified for use in either front or rear positions where standard CVDs endure high rotational speed, offered as a direct replacement or an upgraded component for the compatible models shown below.
Recommended for technicians and serious hobbyists replacing worn CVDs on a Traxxas X-Maxx 6S or seeking a more rigid steel joint with pinned alloy hex retention for demanding applications.
