Precision #45 Dogbone Upgrade for Traxxas X-MAXX

Aftermarket dogbone assembly for TRAXXAS X-MAXX, referenced TXM1160S/1. Components utilise steel #45 metallurgy to deliver a stiffer driveshaft solution compared with standard diameter dogbones.

Engineering details: the shaft section is stepped from 5.5mm to 7mm to improve resistance to bending under high torque, with end pin diameter specified at 3.5mm. The supply condition lists 1 pcs 3.5-thread steel collar and 1 pcs 3.0x20 steel pin included alongside the three dogbones.

Workshop guidance: suitable for rugged off-road and rally driving where increased shaft stiffness reduces deformation and stabilises drivetrain behaviour. Prior to installation verify axle and hub bore tolerances on your X-MAXX, ensure correct 3.5mm pin engagement, and re-torque retention hardware after an initial running period.

Compatible Models

  • Traxxas Xmaxx 6S
Confirm hub bore diameter and axle geometry, verify the 3.5mm pin clearance, and check that the stepped 5.5-7mm section clears surrounding components through suspension travel.
Increasing the shaft section to 7mm at load zones reduces bending and improves torsional stiffness, which helps maintain consistent driveline geometry under heavy loads.
Inspect pins and collars for deformation, check dogbone straightness, and verify bearing and hub condition; replace any worn retention hardware as needed.
