This CNC machined aluminium rear L-shape piggy back damper set is engineered for the TRAXXAS UNLIMITED DESERT RACER platform and supplied as a four-piece rear suspension upgrade kit. It comprises two coil-on spring dampers and two internal dampers designed to reduce internal friction, extend service life, and provide a more consistent damping curve across variable terrain.

Bodies are produced from 6061 T6 aluminium with sealed construction to mitigate oil loss and maintain damping consistency under demanding use. The dampers employ a higher concentration suspension oil for reliable damping characteristics. Shafts are upgraded from 3.5mm to 5mm to increase column stiffness and resist bending under load, and the coil spring wire diameter increases from 1.8mm to 2.0mm while preserving compatibility with original springs for tuning flexibility. The L-shape piggy back reservoir increases oil travel to smooth response during long strokes and reduce cavitation risk.

Technical fitment guidance: confirm mid-point distances prior to installation; the spring damper mid-point is 139mm and the internal damper mid-point is 160mm. Verify shock tower and mount clearance, use stock springs as a baseline if required, and iterate oil weight and preload adjustments to achieve the desired rear-end behaviour for your setup.
