GPM CNC Grade Aluminium Shock and Axle Upgrade for Rustler VXL

This GPM kit supplies front and rear aluminium shock bodies and hardened steel drive axles tailored for the Traxxas Rustler VXL. Components are specified to increase chassis control and to withstand repeated load cycles encountered in aggressive driving and bashing environments.

Spring Calibration and Lowered Mounting

The assembly uses gold springs with 2.6mm coil diameter and separate silver springs at 2.2mm to raise spring rate and damping response relative to stock. Shock lengths are set to 75mm front and 80mm rear to lower the centre of gravity, allowing a chassis clearance down to roughly 6mm for improved handling dynamics.

Material Selection and Track Adjustment

CVDs and axle components are produced from hardened Steel 45# and aluminium 6061 T6 to deliver high yield strength and reduced mass where possible. A spring steel hex widener increases track by 3mm per side, reducing lateral load transfer and improving stability at speed.

Installation Guidance for Slash Variants

When installing on Slash platforms, manage body height to avoid tyre contact. Use the supplied aluminium collars between body post and shock mount to support chassis loads. Adjust shock inclination by selecting collar sets: front 8mm with rear 12mm at maximum body height, front 12mm with rear 16mm at minimum body height.
