Each shaft receives a black hardening surface treatment to increase contact hardness and resistance to wear relative to many stock CVD alloys. The CVD layout permits increased steering articulation while preserving engagement during suspension travel, reducing the chance of transient disengagement under cornering loads.

Critical dimensions from the supplier are front end-to-midpoint at 62mm and rear end-to-midpoint at 61mm, intended for installation at the front and rear CVD positions respectively.
