Extended CVD shafts and wheel lock set - engineering overview

This kit contains extended front and rear 110mm constant velocity drive shafts, aluminium-compatible wheel locks and hex claws intended for TRAXXAS MAXX vehicles adapted to the WIDEMAXX layout. Designed for service and rebuild applications, the set restores mechanical engagement between diff outdrives and wheel hubs to maintain efficient torque transfer in 1/10 4WD MAXX drivetrains.

The components prioritise dimensional fit and drivetrain durability to replace worn outdrives and bearings encountered during extended use or after wide conversion work. Intended for compatibility with standard MAXX carriers and hub hardware, installation normally does not require modification to motor or electronic layouts.

A 36 piece service and upgrade pack assembled to simplify replacement of critical drive components and to preserve drivetrain alignment and engagement on wide MAXX configurations.

Verify spline engagement depth, bearing seating and set screw torque. Confirm shaft length against carrier spacing to prevent preload or binding in the transaxle assembly.
The 17x23x4 bearings suit diff outdrive positions while the 8x16x5 bearings support shaft ends; install bearings with light press fit and apply appropriate grease to extend service life.
Wheel locks and hex claws in the kit are supplied to interface with common aluminium or steel hex setups used in MAXX conversions; ensure hex claw orientation and set screw torque match your wheel mounting spec.
Light grease on splines and bearings, and thread locker on set screws where appropriate, will reduce wear and prevent loosening under heavy duty use.
