No. ER2018 is produced to match the factory motor bolt pattern for TRAXXAS E-REVO VXL, maintaining original mounting geometry while providing a stiffer interface.
The widened fins increase convective surface area to assist passive heat removal, lowering motor case temperature relative to flat mounts under prolonged use.
Standard hex drivers are sufficient for installation. After fitting, verify pinion and spur engagement and torque fasteners to recommended values to ensure consistent drivetrain alignment.
ER2018 improves stiffness and passive cooling but does not replace active thermal management for very high-output systems. Always monitor motor temperatures and use active cooling where required.
