Product brief: 7075 shock cap

This 7075 alloy shock cap is an RC damper accessory intended for front or rear installations on compatible TRAXXAS chassis. It replaces the stock cap with a high-strength 7075 aluminium body and a sealed top to reduce leakage and help stabilise spring preload during aggressive use.

The L-shape piggy-back configuration includes a built-in piston spring that lets you fine-tune rebound externally without changing the internal piston. The red screw adjusts the negative pressure cylinder and varies the effective spring hardness for tailored rebound response on non-oil-filled setups.

Installation follows common shock service procedures and fits original shock bodies as well as GPM shock bodies where compatibility is stated. The cap is engineered to reduce friction-related chatter and manage pressure transfer during compression and rebound cycles.

Designed as an aftermarket suspension upgrade for the listed TRAXXAS platforms, this 7075 alloy shock cap aims to provide hobbyists with a durable, tunable alternative to factory shock tops.

In most cases it fits stock shock bodies listed as compatible; check shaft travel and seal clearance during test assembly to confirm no interference.
Inspect seals, the red adjuster and cap threads after heavy sessions, and clean the top area to prevent grit from affecting seal life and adjustment smoothness.
Yes. The adjuster and built-in spring allow rapid rebound changes to suit smoother or rougher surfaces without internal piston swaps.
Standard RC hex drivers and common maintenance tools are sufficient; ensure correct torque and seal placement when assembling.
The main benefits are improved structural strength from 7075 aluminium, external rebound tuning via the built-in piston spring, and reduced leakage paths compared with typical stock caps.
