This GPM package replaces factory dampers and wheels on the TRAXXAS Slash 4x4 with CNC-friendly aluminium shock assemblies, hardened steel drive components and rubber tyres selected for consistent traction. The kit focuses on improving structural rigidity and predictable handling at elevated speeds on flat layouts.

Engineering Notes

  • Shock housings are upsized relative to stock units and paired with 2.6mm gold and 2.2mm silver springs to control body motion more effectively under load.
  • Shorter shock dimensions (75mm front, 80mm rear) lower ride height to reduce roll moment and improve high-speed stability.
  • CVDs and drive shafts use 45# hardened steel and 6061 T6 aluminium to provide strength while limiting unsprung mass.
  • Spring steel hex wideners add 3mm per side, increasing track width for improved lateral stability during aggressive cornering.
  • Rubber tyres are specified for accurate directional control and repeatable grip on sealed surfaces.
  • Lowering the centre of gravity is a deliberate setup choice to enhance predictability at speed on flat circuits.

Assembly and Clearance

Lowering the Slash body can create clearance issues between shell and tyres. Use the aluminium collars supplied between the body post and shock mount to set the desired shell height. Recommended collars: highest body position uses 8mm front and 12mm rear; lowest position uses 12mm front and 16mm rear.
