Technical overview of the aluminium front shock tower

This one-piece aluminium front shock tower is a purpose-built replacement for the Tamiya 1/10 Wild Willy 2 WR-02 chassis, machined to provide a rigid upper mounting interface for the front shocks. The component is designed to preserve the original mounting geometry while offering a firmer connection at the shock top.

Installation requires removing the stock tower, transferring the existing shock top fittings and mounting screws, and securing the aluminium tower into the original mounting points with the factory fasteners. Retaining the stock shock positions keeps ride height and alignment unchanged.

From a tuning perspective the reduced flex at the upper shock attachment helps isolate the effects of valving and spring rate changes, allowing repeatable comparison of setup adjustments. The tower supports standard WR-02 shock top locations so you can adjust mounting holes to influence camber and roll response while leaving the rest of the front-end settings intact.
