Engineering Notes

This alloy receiver bottom plate is a scale replacement component for the TAMIYA Scania R620 tractor truck, designed with a focus on precision and durable mounting for the receiver tray. The design reduces local flex and preserves alignment under load in scale transport and show builds.

Fitment and role: the plate locates on the stock receiver tray screw points of the Scania R620 chassis to deliver an improved foundation for the receiver and cable routing. It stabilises electronics during towing and low-speed manoeuvres and is supplied as a direct aftermarket solution requiring no chassis modification.

Installation notes: designed to install using the original screw locations and common hardware, the plate allows for clean replacement of the factory plastic tray. Check and prepare screw threads, apply thread locker on set screws as appropriate, and confirm antenna and cable clearance before final torqueing.

Tuning and maintenance: intended as a rigidity upgrade, this plate should be considered during suspension or payload tuning to keep receiver position and cable runs consistent. Scheduled inspections for fastener security and clearance from moving components will preserve long-term reliability.

The plate is machined from aluminium for strength and stable mounting; surface finish and exact machining tolerances are set to give repeatable fit with the Scania R620 tray points.
The plate increases local stiffness at the receiver mount, reducing tray deflection and keeping mounting geometry consistent under load, which helps preserve radio reliability.
Routine checks of screw torque, inspection of cable clearance, and occasional reapplication of thread locker where heavy vibration occurs will maximise the service life of the part.
