This aluminium hi-torque servo saver is provided as an RC-scale replacement for the Tamiya CW-01 Lunch Box chassis. The design pairs a 25T aluminium saver body with a steel tie rod to enhance steering linkage stiffness while retaining the saver function that protects the servo gear train from direct shock loads.
Fitment targets CW-01 installations using a 25T spline: locate the saver between the servo horn and steering linkage, attach the tie rod to the steering arm, and confirm full spline engagement before final torqueing. Use measured thread torque and verify unimpeded steering travel to prevent binding under load.
From a service and tuning standpoint the saver reduces perceptible lash at the wheel and sharpens steering feel when used with higher-torque servos, without asserting changes to the servo output. Regular inspection of the pivot and tie rod threads will help sustain reliable steering characteristics over extended use.
