Manufactured as a Delrin 44T replacement for the HPI Savage 21 two-speed gearbox, this component is supplied as 1 pcs and is intended for direct-fit service or performance-minded rebuilds. The polymer construction reduces metal-on-metal wear while maintaining alignment in the factory gearbox layout.
Use this Delrin unit where reduced friction and improved wear resistance are required in the first-gear position. During installation confirm radial runout, shim stack order and axial endplay, and verify the two-speed dog alignment to prevent premature engagement issues.
Workshop notes: remove the gearbox cover using the Savage 21 service procedure, retain original bearings and shims where serviceable, and set spur and pinion backlash before final assembly. Perform controlled low-speed break-in runs and re-validate mesh and selector operation after initial bedding.
