Technical notes for rear gearbox alloy cover

This alloy rear gear box cover is an aftermarket replacement designed for Kyosho Mini-Z AWD platforms and is supplied as 1 pcs. Aluminium construction provides a stiffer rear mounting interface while keeping added mass minimal for handling balance.

Fitment covers Mini-Z AWD cars including MR-03 AWD variants with removable rear covers. The cover installs to the existing gearbox mounting points and is intended to accept the original fasteners and align with stock drivetrain components, so no permanent chassis modification is needed.

Fitting procedure: remove the factory rear cover using the original screws, align the alloy cover on the gearbox housing, and refit with the original fasteners. Avoid overtorquing to protect thread form and verify pinion to spur engagement after assembly. No additional hardware is normally required beyond standard Mini-Z service tools.

Service and setup guidance: replacing the stock cover with an aluminium unit can modestly increase rear mounting rigidity, which may influence drivetrain behaviour during suspension or motor alignment adjustments. Inspect gear mesh and fastener torque after initial runs, and remove any debris from the gearbox area during routine maintenance.
