Precision alloy steering housing for Kyosho models

The KM048 steering housing is a single-piece machined aluminium replacement for Kyosho motor cycle models, supplied with the mounting screws while the 8x12 ball bearing is excluded from the kit.

Engineered for improved structural stiffness, the component replaces plastic housings to enhance the mechanical interface between steering linkages and the front assembly without requiring changes to servos, ESCs, or motor units.

Assembly procedure: the part fits assemblies designed for an 8x12 ball bearing (not supplied). Remove the OEM housing using standard tools, inspect and prepare the bearing seat for correct alignment, then torque the supplied screws to specification. Verify steering endplay and trim linkage lengths as needed to maintain neutral alignment.

Performance notes: this machined aluminium housing reduces front-end compliance to deliver crisper steering feedback during tuning of toe, caster and steering damping. It is intended as a chassis-level upgrade to work in concert with suspension and linkage adjustments for competitive handling gains.

Ensure the bearing seat is concentric and free of burrs; a snug press fit for an 8x12 ball bearing is recommended to avoid axial play and maintain alignment.
Use the correct hex driver and torque lightly to secure the supplied screws without crushing threads; inspect threads and apply thread locker sparingly if repeated loosening occurs.
By reducing steering interface flex, the housing makes suspension and linkage adjustments more repeatable; expect more immediate steering response and adjust dampers and toe accordingly for desired balance.
