Steering support links for chassis tuning

This tie rod set is supplied for the HPI Racing SAVAGE XL FLUX platform as a matched pair for front steering and rear support positions. Made from spring steel to provide reduced deflection compared with stock links, the parts are intended as direct replacements where softer materials have worn or where a firmer steering characteristic is desired.

Installation is straightforward: remove existing tie rods from steering knuckles and drag links, fit the spring steel rods, and secure using the included hardware. Ensure correct thread engagement, apply appropriate torque to avoid stripping, and confirm steering centring before final tightening.

From a tuning perspective, spring steel links reduce elastic movement and yield crisper steering input. Assess changes in steering sensitivity and bump steer when altering suspension settings, and use incremental adjustments to achieve the desired handling balance.

Spring steel exhibits lower elastic deformation than plastic or softer metals, so the steering link deflection is reduced and input is transmitted more directly to the knuckle, improving precision at the cost of slightly increased sensitivity.
Verify steering centre, check toe and tie rod angles, and perform short test runs to observe any changes in bump steer. Make measured adjustments to shock damping or wheel alignment as required.
The kit includes the listed screws, aluminium collars and lock nuts to retain the links. Use the supplied fasteners and check torque and engagement as part of the final assembly check.
