Technical brief

This 18-tooth steel pinion is supplied as a single precision component intended to replace the original pinion on HPI Baja models. It features a 5mm bore and a regraded tooth profile designed to align with the stock spur gear or SBJ057T while maintaining the original gearbox geometry.

Intended use includes drivetrain replacement and incremental ratio tuning where predictable mesh and durability are required. The steel construction is selected to provide consistent engagement under repeated loading.

Assembly notes: ensure the bore fully seats on the motor shaft, set the recommended mesh clearance, and secure the set screw with controlled torque to avoid damage to the motor shaft or tooth faces. Perform a short break-in run and inspect mesh and fastener torque afterwards.
