Technical overview

The SSLA1280FHA front CVD drive shaft is an aftermarket replacement engineered for TRAXXAS Slash 1/10 4x4 platforms. The design pairs stainless steel 304 joint cores with a 6061-T6 aluminium housing to reduce corrosion risk while keeping rotating mass low at the front end.

Manufacturing notes: the joint cores use stainless 304 to resist rust and the shaft has an increased cross section compared with the OEM piece to improve fatigue life under repeated impacts. The aluminium housing is precision machined to accept the internal joint assembly and offers consistent fitment across production runs.

Sealing and protection are provided by silicone O-rings around the joint to damp shock transfer and to limit ingress of debris; pivot components are enclosed within the shaft envelope to enhance impact protection for the moving parts.

Assembly hardware referenced includes 3mm steel hex shims, M4x2.5x11 and 3x3 screws, and silicone O-rings. Note that the 3mm hex shim is optional and is used where wheel hex tolerance requires minor spacing adjustment.
