SMJ057T 57-tooth Steel#45 spur for Axial platforms

The SMJ057T is a 57T spur manufactured for Axial SMT10 applications. Fabricated from Steel#45, this single-piece spur is intended as a direct replacement for matching tooth-count spurs and is shipped with the small ancillary parts that typically accompany spare gears.

Engineering note: the spur defines the final drivetrain ratio and is therefore a primary tuning element for crawl performance versus top speed. Use SMJ057T to change final drive ratio for increased torque or higher speed, and during replacement of a worn component. Proper installation requires accurate pinion-to-spur mesh and verification of free rotation through the drivetrain before applying full motor load.

Included components (as supplied):

  • 15X33X1 Fibre - 2pcs
  • 5.4X8.2X11.1X1.5 Black Springs - 2pcs
  • 4MM Stainless Steel Lock Nut - 1pc

Compatible Models

  • SSCX2057T

As an aftermarket replacement, GPM SMJ057T provides a sturdy Steel#45 option for Axial-type spur applications; verify fitment and mesh to ensure expected drivetrain performance.

The shipment contains one 57T Steel#45 spur (SMJ057T) plus two 15X33X1 fibre shims, two 5.4X8.2X11.1X1.5 black springs, and one 4mm stainless steel lock nut.
Changing to a 57T spur increases overall gear reduction compared with smaller spurs, yielding more torque at the wheels and reducing top speed. Use it when you require stronger low-speed control or heavier load handling.
Set pinion depth to achieve a uniform tooth contact pattern, confirm free rotation through the drivetrain, and torque the lock nut to the recommended value. Reinspect mesh after a short run-in period.
Steel#45 offers balanced mechanical properties for machined gears, combining adequate hardness for wear resistance with toughness to resist chipping under load when properly installed and maintained.
