Precision gearbox cover upgrade for Capra

This machined aluminium gearbox cover set replaces the stock plastic caps on the AXIAL Capra 1.9 UNLIMITED front and rear gearboxes to provide a more stable and precise mounting for the differential carrier. The design focuses on improving bearing support and minimising housing deformation under torque, which helps maintain consistent diff alignment during low speed technical crawling.

The plates mount over the gearbox opening and are secured with the supplied stainless steel cap head screws to clamp the differential housing. Using aluminium 6061 T6 increases the contact area and stiffness compared with plastic caps, reducing movement that can affect backlash and diff engagement, especially when using tighter lash or heavier gear combinations.

Installation follows standard drivetrain procedures: remove the OEM cover, place the aluminium plate, and torque the screws to the recommended value. Reassess differential preload and bearing alignment after fitting since the increased rigidity can change engagement characteristics.
