This alloy front and rear ball differential joint set is engineered as a metal replacement for Associated RC18T models. Supplied as two parts, each joint installs with its lock nut to secure the ball end inside the differential assembly, offering enhanced durability over softer stock parts.
Specified for direct replacement and tuning, the alloy joints modify friction at the diff output to allow finer control of traction and cornering balance on 1/18 on-road platforms. The components are intended solely for RC model use.
Installation requires standard diff service procedure: remove the housing cover, extract the original ball joint, fit the alloy joint in the original location, and torque the supplied lock nut to the recommended value. Basic hobby tools are adequate; a small amount of threadlocker may be applied to the lock nut for extended retention.
Routine maintenance follows metal drivetrain best practice: clean after heavy use, inspect the ball seat for signs of wear or deformation, and replace the joint if play is observed. Using compatible differential lubricants will help protect the contact surfaces and maintain consistent behaviour under load.
