Technical Notes for 18T Rear Radials

This matched pair of rear tyres is supplied for the Associated RC 18T platform and includes foam inserts to preserve the radial profile under load. The profile and internal support are specified to align with standard 18T rear wheel hubs and common 1/18 touring inserts used in competitive setups.

Compound performance: the 40 degree hardness provides a stiffer carcass and reduced deformation during acceleration, which improves traction consistency and tyre life on carpet and lower-grip asphalt. Expect a trade-off where mechanical grip is slightly lower, so tune shock rates and differential settings to suit the stiffer rear bias.

Installation procedure: verify even bead seating and remove any injection mould flash from the inner lip so the insert seats without distortion. Use a suitable rubber-to-rim adhesive, allow full cure, then static and dynamic balance the assembly. Regular rotation and wear checks will extend service life and maintain handling predictability.
